Awesome Games Done Quick Raises $2.2 Million

Awesome Games Done Quick raised $2.2 million for the Prevent Cancer Foundation for the second year in a row. However, some people were upset over Games Done Quick’s decision to lock the stream chat behind a $5 subscription fee. Due to GDQ streams have grown to roughly 180,000 people, the stream chat is a mess. All subscription fees for January are also going to the Prevent Cancer Foundation. Some people, who were not for the subscription fee, started rebroadcasting the event, notably GDQ_poverty. GDQ_poverty’s chat grew so large and hate-filled that the channel got a 24 hour ban. Kinda proves the point?
