Epic Games Pours $100 Million into Fortnite Esports

Epic Games announced they are pouring $100 million into the Fortnite esports scene.
The $100 million will fund prize pools in the first year of competitive play for the Fortnite esports scene, which will span the 2018-2019 season. We’re still waiting on more details, but Epic Games has said, “We’re getting behind competitive play in a big way, but our approach will be different – we plan to be more inclusive, and focused on the joy of playing and watching the game.” More inclusive would suggest that tournaments may focus on open invite rather than having leagues with specific rosters.
