We have been interested to see which esports would emerge in Japan in the wake of the country licensing players to game professionally. One of the first is surprisingly Puyo Puyo. The decades old puzzle game is an equivalent Kirby’s Avalanche or Dr Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine. Sega announced the first Poyu Poyu tournament will take place during Sega Fest 2018 between April 14-15, 2018 with the prize pot of one-million Yen or about $9,400.
