Massive Changes to Come to Call of Duty World League

The Call of Duty World League 2019 season is seeing some significant changes. The format changes include changing from 4-versus-4 that the 2018 CWL had to 5-versus-5 format. The prize pool will increase to $6,000,000.00 up from the 2018 prize pool which was $1,500,000.00. The region restrictions will be lifted for all LAN events encouraging everyone to come together from around the world to compete at CWL events.

The first CWL event for the 2019 season will be CWL Las Vegas taking place Friday December 7th through Sunday December 9th. The event will be a multi-stage competition featuring an Open Bracket that teams may purchase a team pass to compete, Pool Play, and a Championship Bracket. Following this Event the CWL Pro League Returns in February 2019. The CWL Pro League Matches will be broadcast on Monday through Thursday from the MLG Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

CWL also announced that there is a Path to Pro through the CWL National Qualifiers. The National Circuit that 2018 season introduced will be revamped into the National Qualifier. 16 teams in each National Qualifier will compete in online tournaments to win travel and accommodation to compete at a future CWL LAN Event. The National Qualifiers will take place in the same places that the National Circuit. The National Qualifier is country and region-locked meaning that the players must be from their respective regions to compete. With the release of Black ops 4 Online competitions will return as another way for players to begin their eSports dream.
